The wildflower festival at Kings Park this year was stunning, perfect weather has made this a vintage year. When you really stop and observe it is amazing how many of the flowers have silver leaves and stems, and eucalypts have silver leaves and gumnuts, often with mahogany highlights. The mottlecahs were in bloom, looking a little like sea anemones bursting out of coral. It is enchanting the way they lift the pointy hat off their pod to take a bow. Everywhere were pink flowers, until I felt almost drunk on sunshine and pink.
