Biography
I am a fine art photographer and a painter (as well as drawing) residing in Sydney, NSW with my husband and two boys. As a self- taught in both photography and fine- art, these once hobbies have now taken over my life and then the household, while gaining more and more compliments along the way. I've decided to take the plunge and see what I can make of this opportunity.
Each medium offers different challenges and presently I different a message with each medium. However, this has been and always will be, an evolution and maybe one day the messages converge.
I enjoy the difference is each medium offers to me and the challenges they face. The experience I gain from each medium helps me gain an understanding in the others. This is a challenge I never want to lose, and a big reason I am drawn to art.
As a photographer my current focus is to capture feminine strength in the beauty of that strength taking inspiration from photographers Paolo Roversi and Peter Lindbrough, I endeavour display women and the beauty of their strength in a sensitive yet unapologetic way. I aim to achieve this by celebrating the female form and her connection with our natural environment. The connection shows at once our vulnerability to the elements and yet at the same time the strength we gain when we are connected to it.
As a fine artist I have embraced celebrating the apparent simplicity of everyday life. Especially during these time’s, we have been forced to quiet in our lives and become introspective they small moments have become all the more beautiful. I use variety of different mediums to capture this and I find that freedom of this liberating.
