Eye Study No. 4

In this work ive used acrylics which is a different and challenging medium for me to work in. I wanted to explore creating an emotional piece quickly focusing on the eye. Eyes tell us so much of a persons story and what they are going through.

Creating her whole life and armed with a degree in Costume Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, Kate starting to focus on painting more during the great lockdown 2020. Finding herself home alone, painting allowed an expressive and creative outlet that helped fill the void of isolation from the world. She quickly discovered a passion for painting, and specifically figurative and portraiture works, focusing on bright bold colour use and strong brush work. Her works take inspiration from the Pop Art, WPAP & Impressionistic movements, experimenting with conveying identity, character, emotion and thoughts.
