Original Artwork's Description

This work is a 1 hour study looking at tone, and depth trying to catch the shadows and tonal difference on a face.

The work has a neon pink underpainting then the pink background and skin tones have been painted on. The work has unpainted areas (this is part of my signature style) the sides are underpainted but been left mainly unpainted from top colours.

Artist Bio

Creating her whole life and armed with a degree in Costume Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, Kate starting to focus on painting more during the great lockdown 2020. Finding herself home alone, painting allowed an expressive and creative outlet that helped fill the void of isolation from the world. She quickly discovered a passion for painting, and specifically figurative and portraiture works, focusing on bright bold colour use and strong brush work. Her works take inspiration from the Pop Art, WPAP & Impressionistic movements, experimenting with conveying identity, character, emotion and thoughts.
