Kate Soady was born in Sydney Australia she studied visual arts from at the university of Western Sydney where she graduated with honours majoring in painting. In the year immediately following art school she co-founded and artist run collective named “Street Level” in Sydney’s outer west..
Kates’ art studio in the Blue Mountains is surrounded by National Park. The Australian bush and landscape is where she finds constant inspiration for her work. Native flora and bird life is a prominent theme for her current pieces which are rhythmic, patterned, layered and have distinctly Australian aesthetic.
Kates’ work is a poetic exploration of balance and harmony creating a sense of freedom and playfulness. Colour, form, pattern and texture are interwoven to create dynamic abstract and semi abstract pieces. Kates’ style is diverse including pure abstracts, multimedia pieces, landscapes and semi abstracted floral paintings.
