Artwork Description

Homage to my beautiful old girl River.
I've always had dogs, predominantly German Shepherd and River blessed my life for 13 years. She was a classic black and tan, and an old soul with the calmest temperament. I hope I captured that with this piece, and I plan on doing a a lot more animal inspired pieces moving forward, including a few more of this beautiful old girl.

Artist Bio

Well hello to my fellow art enthusiast!
Welcome to my page and little bit about me. I’m a predominantly abstract artist with a great big quirky side who loves a splash of colour – just look at me, I’m a walking canvas!
I love making big abstract works with flowing colours inspired by life – think beautiful ocean blues, forest greens, floral gems and breath taking sunsets.
I lived all over Australia and consider myself to be an eclectic artist working in various styles to suit my mood – I love the intuitivity and unpredictability of flow art and you’ll see a lot of that on my page, which completely contrast with my geometric landscapes where I like to rip apart the layers of perception and colour – something I’ve been doing since high school when I discovered a love of Bridgette Riley and the British Op and Pop Artists of the 60’s.
The world is a heavy and heady place, a brokenly beautiful thing and as I get older and my daughter grows up I’m finding myself getting nostalgic and wanting to have a bit more fun as I look back at my life, and how that looks in my art. Having recently left a 15 year career with the police in Darwin to move to Melbourne and watching my daughter grow up I’ve feeling the need to get my ‘POP’ on and share some joy! I’m working on some new stuff and a lot of mixed media, and drawing inspiration from my love of tattoo’s, graffiti and urban street art (which Darwin is AMAZING for) movies and all things old school sci-fi – so watch this space!
