Artwork Description

Oil on canvas

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

Sheep and Sky at Glenmire Station was painted plein air on a sunny Winter day with buttery oil impasto.

The countryside has never ceased to amaze me. Huge skys filled with rolling clouds, undulating paddocks that change with the seasons from yellow with canola, brown earth of potato harvest and then green and lush for grazing.

It was a sunny but cold Winter day when I painted this. This beautiful sheep station belongs to Patto and Claire who have worked the land for 40 years. A family farm, this land features rolling paddocks scattered with ancient gumtrees.

I felt soothed painting this piece and let it naturally evolve on the canvas. It comes framed with a strong wire across the back for hanging.

I really enjoyed my time at Glenmire Station, this piece has a place in my heart.
