Artwork Description

Oil on canvas

Signed on the front.

When the cold gusts of Winter come to an end and make way to the sunnier days of Spring the Winter sweet bush burst into life. The bare branches are adorned with delicate yellow flowers that have a strong fragrance.

The Amber Jar in the painting was one that I found in the Wombat Forest. There are so many remnants to find within the bracken undergrowth.

I believe paintings are invited with the energy of the artist. When I painted this Alla Prima everything flowed into the canvas so well. I use thick, buttery oil paints that create structure on the canvas.
