Echidna in Grass

This is a part of a series I made of Australian animals and birds. This one is of one of Australia's cute and spikey Echidna.
The background is painted with black gesso, which has become a signature in my paintings. The main painting is done with oil paints

This painting is not framed, however, if requested, I can add wire to the back so you can hang it that way, otherwise, you can hang it up with the canvas frame.

Drawing on her rural upbringing, Kathleen brings the Australian experience to life, through oils (most of the time)

With a youth spent in the Australian countryside, Kathleen has always had an eye for the landscape and wildlife of Australia. Through a number of overseas artistic sabbaticals, she has grown as an artist, and now finds her work, inadvertently influenced by some of the great artists of the world. Now at home in her studio in Brisbane, Kathleen continues to draw inspiration from the natural landscape of south east Queensland, whilst also being influenced by the built environment around her.
