Snuggled Koala

This is a part of a series I made of Australian animals and birds. This one is of one of Australia's cute and cuddly Koalas sleeping. Painted from a photo I took at a wildlife centre in Queensland.

The background is painted with white gesso, which has become a signature in my paintings. The main painting is done with oil paints

This painting is not framed, but you can use the frame to hang or you can get it framed or wired.

Drawing on her rural upbringing, Kathleen brings the Australian experience to life, through oils (most of the time)

With a youth spent in the Australian countryside, Kathleen has always had an eye for the landscape and wildlife of Australia. Through a number of overseas artistic sabbaticals, she has grown as an artist, and now finds her work, inadvertently influenced by some of the great artists of the world. Now at home in her studio in Brisbane, Kathleen continues to draw inspiration from the natural landscape of south east Queensland, whilst also being influenced by the built environment around her.
