Fine Artist creating works to express the beauty and wonder I see in Garden Blooms, Still Life and Farm Life in South Gippsland, Australia.
We moved to the country 10 years ago, lovingly renovated an 1900s farmhouse, re-established its gardens, and created a living canvas of inspiration.
I have sketched and drawn all my life but it wasn't until the renovations were done that painting became my obsession. Watercolour and Gouache came first -thick rich pigments, granulation, watery mixes and colours so translucent and nuanced I was mesmerized, then came oils in all itsbuttery brilliance. I developed my skills with workshops and classes to build a professional Art practise.
I create Art to express my love of nature, to appreciate and savour the beauty I see in hand made pottery, or the nostagia of yesterday items, the wonder I see and feel when I slow down to really look, colours in dappled shade, the edges of light and dark. In my studio there is always a sketchbook of ideas waiting to be painted - hopefully I can share some with you.
