This surrealist work, the first of a series embodies the nature of Impermanence - something that arises, changes and disappears.
According to the Buddhists - everything in human life and all objects is constantly changing, inconstant and undergoes rebirth and redeath.
The suspended folded robe applied in realism is juxtaposed to a multilayered textured background to give the appearance of movement, of a fleeting nature.
The robe is symbolic of people shedding their mortal coil.
