Artwork Description

This was painted from a sketch I originally did while I was in a zoom meeting. I am not sure how my imagination came up with this one but as soon as it was on paper I knew I wanted to turn it into a colourful painting. The fat cat looks like some sort of mob figure and you can see in background that an enemy has meet his demise at the "hands" of fat cat's little pets in the tank at the back. This was great fun to paint and I hope someone finds it as amusing as I do!

Artist Bio

Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, I have always loved drawing and art. Art has always been something I have loved and come back to as a hobby as time and inspiration arose. I am mostly a self-taught artist and only started using the watercolour medium late 2016. Before this I mainly used graphite and coloured pencils for basic drawings. Mid 2017 I completed a short watercolour botanical art course that improved my ability and understanding of the medium and has been the stepping stone to my growth as an artist. I joined the Hobsons Bay Arts Society mid 2018 after participating in the 5 x 7 art prize and have really enjoyed and learnt a lot through workshops and demonstrations held by the society. Being a member of the society has also opened up new mediums to me, after doing a portrait course I now love using pastels and charcoal too. My subject matter is usually nature based as I am constantly inspired by the world around me.
