Created for the 5"x7" art show with the theme going places. I remember in my youth whenever we traveled I would bring back a postcard from that place and liked the idea of making one for my home town. Using a retro theme I created the lettering and then filled the insides of the letters with subtle scenes and landmarks from around my area. Included are HO: the cannons from the Strand in Williamstown, B: the Time Beacon sculpture from Truganina Park (100 steps of federation), SON: The Westgate Bridge and surrounds, S: A black swan, B: The timeball tower in Williamstown, A: The Hobsons Bay City Council Offices and Y: A pelican, with the back drop of Altona Pier and beach. Painted on 300gsm cotton watercolour paper and then mounted to a 5"x7" canvas panel. Has been sprayed with a protective mat spray and comes framed in a natural timber frame with cord to hang or can rest on it's side due to timber width.
