Originally drawn for the 5"x7" art show with the theme Imagine. John Lennon was drawn using charcoal onto 300gsm watercolour 100% cotton paper, this was then mounted to a canvas panel and sprayed with fixative followed by protective matt spray. Following the show this has been placed into a simple black frame. The work can be hung using the hook on the back of the frame or sit on a surface using the stand on the back of the frame.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, I have always loved drawing and art. Art has always been something I have loved and come back to as a hobby as time and inspiration arose. I am mostly a self-taught artist and only started using the watercolour medium late 2016. Before this I mainly used graphite and coloured pencils for basic drawings. Mid 2017 I completed a short watercolour botanical art course that improved my ability and understanding of the medium and has been the stepping stone to my growth as an artist. I joined the Hobsons Bay Arts Society mid 2018 after participating in the 5 x 7 art prize and have really enjoyed and learnt a lot through workshops and demonstrations held by the society. Being a member of the society has also opened up new mediums to me, after doing a portrait course I now love using pastels and charcoal too. My subject matter is usually nature based as I am constantly inspired by the world around me. Please contact me if you would like to make any suggestions requests or commission a work. Thank you!
