Painted for the 2022 5x7 Art Prize with the theme "What Matters". To me one of the obvious things that matters is love, so a young couple dancing, lost in each other and the moment reflects this. The background is a bright warm yellow cocooning the couple and a visual embodiment of the couples love.
Painted using Caran D'Ache Neocolor II Aquarelle on 300gsm watercolour paper. It was then cut to size and mounted on a 5"x7" canvas panel. The whole work was then sprayed with a protective spray. Work is unframed but due to its' standard size it could easily be inserted in a 5x7 frame with the glass removed.
