The influence behind this piece came from the weed choked waterways in the area where I used to live. For the most part they are ugly- but viewed from a different perspective there is a beauty within them. The strong lines and pale wheat colours contrasting against the blue sky. The patterning of the clouds looked almost painted- and so this piece was born. The warm colours and simple but striking lines bring a countryside feel, and once framed will compliment a variety of decor and colour schemes.

Artist Bio
I am a designer, photographer and artist based in Hervey Bay, Queensland.
My love for art began at an early age and throughout my life has been a strong focal point. Photography was a natural progression for me and I completed a certificate in this area whilst raising my children.
In late 2018 I made the decision to follow my creative passions. My business Created By Kat came to fruition in early 2019. Now I create many things from unique clothing, bags, jewellery and homewares to stationary, paintings, photography and sculpture.
My inspiration comes from everything in the world around me. Whilst I am fortunate to live in such a beautiful place, I particularly enjoy finding interest and beauty in the commonplace, and even in what is deemed ugly or undesirable. I enjoy creating pieces that are bright, contrasting and eye catching.
I also love learning new ways of creating, and often will experiment with a variety of media. No matter how much you learn I believe there is always room to grow :)
I don't like to box myself in when describing my style of art, because I believe it is always evolving and changing depending on what has sparked the inspiration behind any given piece of art.
