About Me: Capturing Nature’s Beauty Through Paint
Thank you for taking a moment to explore my artwork. My journey as a painter has been a gradual revelation—one that intertwines with your own unique experience when you view my creations.
Reflections and Colors:
The act of painting is a dance of reflection and expression. Standing before the canvas, I try to connect with a deeper sense of the subject and explore what message I want to convey—bringing together what my eyes see, what emotions present, and what memories return. These impressions translate into the hues I choose, the shapes I define, and the style of the overall composition. There’s magic in the way paint behaves—blending, bleeding, and whispering secrets to “try this color over here!” Each stroke surprises me, revealing more than my conscious mind intended.
Nature’s Palette:
Nature is my muse. The Coral Sea and Gold Coast beckon with their vibrant colors, but so do the rugged mountains, rainforests, and bushlands. Water, rocks, trees, and plants—their forms and textures find their way into my work. Australian beaches, New Zealand landscapes, Tasmanian vistas, and the Rocky Mountain streams—all hold stories waiting to be told through my brush.
From Communication to Creation:
Visual communication has been my professional path, but it was in 2020, during the Covid lockdown, that I fully embraced painting. The silver lining of those challenging times granted me the freedom to explore various media and techniques. Now, primarily working with oils, I occasionally delve into acrylics or pastels when the subject or desired media effect demands it. Sometimes inspiration arrives with a specific vision; other times, it’s the colors themselves that lead me—a silent invitation to try something new.
The Mystery Unfolds:
Regardless of where inspiration originates, Nature’s beauty always finds its way onto my canvas. The act of creation becomes a dialogue with the unknown, and each painting takes on a life of its own. I’m perpetually surprised by the result—an echo of the wonder that surrounds us.
Thank you for joining me on this artistic journey.
