My interest in art and in particular, oil painting, is a relatively recent one following some major life changes a few years back. I have no formal art training but ‘came to art’ after leaving the corporate world of banking and have discovered that it is very much who I am and where I am most comfortable and happy. I am so appreciative of the world of talent that I have been exposed to over the years, in my amazing art groups and am continuously inspired by the incredible people I paint with and from whom I received tuition.
My aim is to create interest, provide pleasure, provocation and appreciation of the beauty of our surroundings. Inspiration comes in many forms; people, nature, flora, skylines, paintings, color, the list goes on... My influences are diverse as I have spent time in many parts of the world, living for lengthy periods in Zimbabwe, South Africa, UK and most recently arriving in Perth, Australia. I look forward to exploring the differences and exploiting the similarities of the influences in my new home country.
