Blue Satin

As a child I remember doing a school project on the Australian Bowerbird. I was fascinated with how they collect blue things to decorate their bower and my grandmother told me stories about one that used to build a bower at her back fence. I was amazed because she lived in suburban Sydney. I was so pleased when I painted this little bowerbird with his collection of blue in the background. This piece was finalist in the Colorado Pastel Society 2025 exhibition.

I am an artist who takes her inspiration from nature. I give back to our environment and a percentage of sales of my art is given to wildlife rescues to save our precious and unique wildlife.

I live in Lake Macquarie, two hours north of Sydney and it really is the best place in the world to live. I watch the sunrise over the white sands and thunderous ocean and the sunset over the tranquility of Lake Macquarie. The bush is on my doorstep and I love nature in all its glory. I draw my inspiration from my surroundings and my paintings often showcase the brightest of blues to match the Australian summer sky and the bright colours of our native flowers and birds.

I am not confined to one style of painting. I do everything from quirky bright animals to brighten a child's nursery in acrylics to detailed pastels of animals and flowers.
