Artwork Description

This artwork is part of a series called Dinos in kimonos. I love the ukiyo-e period of Japanese art that featured geishas in elborate kimonos. In this work I have combined my love of dinosaurs with Japanese art and created the design of the kimono pattern using a stencil. This work uses the colour purple that represents the spiritual/higher self chakra in the body and also the search for spiritual meaning that humanity strives for. The dinosaur perched on Mt Fuji accentuates the feeling of ascension.
My framed artworks are framed in upcycled frames which may contain minor marks.
