Californian partridge with floral adorned shrub

I have enjoyed painting a series of birds. I am attracted to birds with a certain body shape and the partridge is one of those birds. I enjoy encorporating detailed patterns into my work and the floral adorned shrub and feathers on the partridge are examples of this which has been made possible by using a posca pen onto to the acrylic paint. I also enjoy pastel colours and have used mainly pastels for the colour pallette for this work.

I am a self taught artist of Chinese/ French origins. I am currently painting with acrylics on canvas, however I love other media including markers, ink, technical pen , textiles and papercraft. I also hand sew dinosaur related products using upcycled materials.
The subject matters I explore include dinosaurs, fashion, nature and still life. My work showcases strong and vivid colour palettes.
I love all things vintage which influence my work and prefer to look at and make hand crafted art than digital art.
I have self published two short comics, a children's picture book and an art instruction book called Brain Wave. I have hosted various art workshops for all ages and have taught art classes to adults in my home town of Lake Macquarie.
I completed a Certificate IV in Graphic Design in 2017 and won best design for wine bottle labels with the Inner City Winemakers in Wickham, NSW.
I have participated in group exhibitions at CStudios and The Lock up in Newcastle and have had two solo exhibitions at Lake Macquarie libraries.
