My Philodendron Selloum Hope, aptly named, reaching towards the golden light from the window, caught my imagination during Melbourne's 6th lockdown. Painted on cradled wood board, 3.8cm deep. Does not need to be framed.

Artist Bio

Katie Banakh is a Ukrainian born, Naarm / Melbourne based fine artist and educator. Her award winning catalogue of work spans across painting and photography, with work held in the Muswellbrook Regional Art Gallery, and Macquarie Bank collections, as well as private collections. Katie was a finalist in the Gosford Art Prize in 2020, a winner of the Macquarie Emerging Artist Prize in 2020 and a finalist in the Bluethumb Art Prize in 2021.
In 2017, she attended the Winter-Spring semester at Lunga School in Seydisfjordur, Iceland, which has had a lasting impact; diversifying and energising her practice. She has since exhibited and sold works throughout Australia and internationally. Katie is currently teaching photography in Melbourne and working to put beauty into the world at a time of global turmoil.
