I have always been drawn to abstract work because it provides an opportunity for intuitive expression. I have been creating art for many years and in many different forms - I started experimenting with resin art many years ago and it established my love of abstract art and the impact that colour and pattern can have on emotions. I have spent the last 2 years focusing on organic shapes, expressed in different mediums. I love the contrast of different mediums, all expressed in similar organic and minimalistic shapes.
I am intuitively inspired by nature, particularly the Australian bush, as well as interior design - I like to explore the often unnoticed patterns and markings that flow through organic shapes in nature. My current collection, titled Island Bend, is an homage to my family's summer camping spot. A magical spot, off the beaten track near Jindabyne in NSW. The river at Island Bend in particular is a spot which I have sought most of my inspiration due to the organic shapes created by endless streams of water - the river has a life of its own.
