Artwork Description

Handcrafted from air-dried clay and individually painted with gouache, this textured fish artwork celebrates the playful movement and quiet beauty of underwater life. Each fish has been carefully sculpted by hand, giving the piece a unique organic character and tactile depth that changes with the light and viewing angle. Mounted on stretched canvas, the artwork combines painting and sculpture to create a whimsical coastal-inspired statement piece.

Inspired by the colours, textures, and marine life of Australia’s coastline, this work explores themes of connection, movement, and harmony in nature. The soft matte quality of gouache paint enhances the handmade feel of the piece, while layered details and imperfect forms add warmth and personality.

Perfect for coastal, bohemian, or contemporary interiors, this artwork brings a sense of calm, curiosity, and joyful creativity into a space.
