Artwork Description

I am back with sand. There are so many different types of sand to create. It is a very versatile texture. I've always enjoyed looking at aerial shots of scorching deserts, especially the ones with camels walking along the dune peaks with their shadows cast on the sand. But, you know me, I like my trees, so a large shadow in the shape of a tree looms over the desert.

Created with the digital software, Blender, I played around until I reached a detailed sand texture. I used the default tree generation add-on and tweaked it to get the right look. The sand was an experimentation of noise and voronoi texture nodes, ultimately creating the wavy distorted look. After tweaking a singular light source, I managed to create a final piece with high contrast shadows, that overall creates a mystery. Most of the materials I generate are PBR (Physically Based Rendering) materials, and they are primarily used to simulate real life materials based on how light reacts to it.

This piece is a representation of highly saturated warm colours that would suit a room with darker timbres and overall warm tones. However, it may also be a great contrasting point in a lighter or cooler room that has warm accents. The Galerie Smooth Pearl paper gives you superb photographic quality with high clarity.

The size I have listed is 61cm x 45.7cm. I am flexible with sizes, as long as the request stays with or close to the 4:3 aspect ratio, so if you feel that size may not be right for you, please do contact me directly and I can organise an alternative size.

The art work is "print only" and will be delivered neatly, and safely packed in a postal tube. My method of sales will also be print-to-order, however, since I am printing locally, there won't be a turnaround time and I can print, pick-up, sign, and ship to you immediately. The print will be signed and numbered in pencil on the back and accompanied with a signed letter of authenticity.

And of course, since the work is "unframed," you have the freedom of choosing one of the beautiful custom frame options, coordinated by the Bluethumb team. You will be able to preview my artwork in one of the frames and you can choose between natural timber, white or black.

And lastly, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me directly. I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Artist Bio

I am a completely self-taught 3D artist based in Queensland. I specialise in creating realistic landscape scenes that are completely 3D generated; built, textured and composited by myself. I like to include a touch of surrealism to my pieces and want to see how far I can go to make a 3D piece look real. Coming from a photography background, I am inspired by awe inducing landscapes as well as astrophotography. All my work is modelled, rendered and composited in the 3D software, Blender.

I am finally taking the plunge and getting out there with my art. It is rather different and I was intimidated by the thought of rejection, but you don't know unless you try. I believe my art is unique, and it's definitely time consuming to get the final result. I have the idea of creating pieces that will bring a sense of brilliance to a room, and pieces that will make buyers stop and stare. This is my first step to getting my work out there, and hopefully it will get around. To all fellow artists and buyers, it is a pleasure to meet you all and I wish you the best in your exciting journeys.
