My mother had a Japanese doll, and as a child, I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had seen. It had silk embroidered material and a paper umbrella and fluttery hair combs. It was unlike anything else in our sixties house.
I was a professional potter for 35 years, and was drawn again, to the ideas and design of the East.
I like this tea bowl for its handmade simplicity and imperfections, and the orchids are a perfect match.
