Katrina has been studying art within her community since 1996, when she became a mother. She has 3 children and has been an active and supportive community member in the local Melbourne suburb of Hampton for the past 22 years. Katrina is passionately concerned about global warming and the degradation of our planet due to the unsustainable practices of industrialisation over the past 100 past years. The times we live in are exciting but daunting which has given rise to the development of new technologies and innovative design in transport, infrastructure, farming/agriculture and energy resources creating hope for a brighter future.

Katrina’s love of nature is expressed in her paintings of landscapes, fauna and flora. This is a precious time we live in, with huge diversity of plants and animals. Sadly, our grandchildren may not experience the diversity we have today.

How people live today is also an area of interest for Katrina. Her paintings of everyday local, urban communities and city centres, rural areas capture the raw unrefined essence of living in today’s modern world.

Through her art pieces Katrina hopes to spread her compassion and knowledge of the important topic of global warming, raising the necessary awareness and sparking crucial conversations about our future.
