Painting from a young age, her work has developed from the depths of emotions, the study of rhythm, colour, texture, seasons, and energy.
With a mixture of pure abstraction, fluid and abstract expressionism, her paintings take form.
An early background in fashion. Her modelling career started at 17, leaving Australia to travel the world and work for international agencies and brands such as Louis Vuitton, Pierre Cardin, Vogue, Triumph, etc. Feeling from a young age that the creative people/artists she met in her years abroad were the most inspiring to her, the most interesting and brave. Their influence helped to ignite her admiration and passion for art.
Intuitively painting from the depths of her feeling life. Fluid and organic with minimal restraint, however, her work can be occasionally intentional. The truest essence of expression comes through her art. Always choosing the unconventional path, educated with all the wrong degrees, following her heart, she has finally landed with a brush back in her hand.
Her work can be found in private collections in Australia and Europe. Working with architects and interior designers, she is currently creating collections independently.
You will find Katya painting between her studios in Noosa and The Mary Valley, often outside in the natural light where she is happiest.
