My artwork reflects the beauty of a woman who is admiring herself in the mirror called as Darpana Sundari. Darpana means "mirror" and Sundari means "beautiful woman". This sculpture was built in 12th century during the Hoysala dynasty as a part of the Belur temple. From the place I come , the aesthetic of beauty and love is called as Shringara which is one of the nine rasas of Indian classical arts. This sculpture mainly the vulnerable parts like necklace were damaged during multiple invasions in 14th century. However I chose to restore through my work to honor her grace and elegance.
