Artwork Description

Passing Thought captures a fleeting moment of quiet beneath an endless blue sky. A single cloud drifts through the frame, evoking the feeling of looking upward and letting the mind wander. The rich blue tones and soft, luminous cloud create a sense of calm, stillness and gentle escape, bringing a contemplative presence to a space.

Painted in oil on canvas, with soft, layered brushwork used to capture the subtle texture and changing light of the cloud.

Artist Bio

Kayan Lai is a Brisbane-based self-taught artist exploring fleeting moments, memory and emotion through painting. Her work is inspired by the quiet details of everyday life — familiar places, changing light, nature and moments that linger in our memory.
