Artwork Description

Sometimes the smallest paintings carry the biggest lessons.

Borris began as a little experiment. I’d never painted on an 8-inch canvas before, and if I’m honest, I spent a good while doubting whether I should even start. It had been a heavy pain week, and the familiar whispers of self-doubt were louder than usual.

But instead of aiming for perfection, I decided to simply have fun.

Out of that moment came Borris — a gentle little koala with a quiet charm and a touch of gentlemanly dignity. There’s something about koalas that feels deeply comforting to me. Their calm presence, their softness, their unhurried way of being in the world feels like a reminder to slow down and breathe.

This painting became a small celebration of letting go, of expectations, of pressure, of the idea that everything has to be grand to be meaningful.

Sometimes joy is found in the smallest canvases, the softest moments, and the quiet courage to begin anyway.

Borris now stands as a reminder that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful , it simply has to be honest.
