Artwork Description

This historic bridge caught my eye upon entering Dubbo. This outback township was pretty active on our stop over. A constant banging noise from metalworks and alarms going off from the supermarket opposite the painting spot! But hey, what is plein air painting without something interesting happening. The river was overgrown but beautiful to an artistic eye. The colours of the grasses contrasting against the water and rusty bridge pillars. The gums were lovely too. It was hard to know what to leave in and what to leave out. I collated the best parts in this full sheet pastel, finishing back in the studio -- without the bang bang sounds. Yes our stay was short!

Yarra valley contemporary realist, Kayleen's artwork is diverse in subject and medium and impressionistic in approach. For her to see the paint application, lines and brush strokes is to experience art in a more sensory way.

She is prolific and has won many awards for her work, which hang in private and corporate collections around the world including the Australian Embassy in Ireland.
