The Influence and Inspiration
My work is deeply rooted in the pursuit of anything that can uplift the human spirit. I take inspiration from the universal search for inner quiet, translating that quest into bold, geometric forms and vibrant layers. Winged Surrender was born from a desire to bring the viewer a sense of peace—not a passive peace, but an active, grounded tranquility that comes from self-acceptance.
The Creative Process
In creating this piece, I practiced my core philosophy of giving up control. While the composition may appear structured, it began with an intuitive release, allowing the art to transform itself as I moved across the canvas. By relinquishing a predetermined outcome, I allowed the winged figure to emerge naturally from the fractured planes of color.
The Piece
A Sanctuary of Color: The interplay of earthy tones and ethereal highlights is designed to create an immersive experience that anchors a room with a calm yet powerful energy.
Scale and Presence: Measuring 110cm x 110cm, this work is intended to be a centerpiece that transforms the atmosphere of a home into a space for reflection.
Finished for the Collector: While I often work on raw surfaces, this original painting is meticulously prepared and stretched, ensuring it arrives as a premium, ready-to-hang statement of modern Australian art.
This painting is an invitation to let go, to breathe, and to find the beauty in the transformation that occurs when we finally surrender to our own inner light.
