Keith 'Munro' Hanson has been creating art for over 40 years. Completely self-taught he started with pencils around 5, pastels at age 8, moved to pen and ink at 16, completed his first mural at 17, did his first large abstract in 1993, and has mainly focused on abstracts utilizing coloured pencils, charcoals, pastels, crayons, inks, watercolours and acrylics ever since.
Highly creative and possessing an overactive imagination Munro grew up in the USA and travelled with his parents to almost every major European Art Gallery by the time he was 7. In addition to painting sculpting and drawing he's created art for corporate brochures, advertising campaigns, catalogues, flyers, celebratory events, a board game, and digitally for over 60 magazines, and is a member of the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Art Society, Central Coast Chamber of Commerce, and the Australian Writers' Guild.

โSometimes I start painting and wind up with a metaphor about life. What I love most about art is the uninhibited freedom to express myself. Growing up in a turbulent household art was my frequent escape. I like to introspect, imagine something, then create my own unique worlds. Instead of mimicking reality or painting something I see, I'd rather see with my mind."
