I am a wildlife artist currently living in Adelaide, South Australia. I have been an artist and I have loved painting for as long as I can remember. I have had some formal training but I am mainly self-taught. My love of nature and more specifically wildlife drives me to try and capture the beauty that I see.
I primarily work in pastels, applying them to a variety of papers for differing effects. Often described as ‘Hyper Realism’, my paintings have a very solid appearance, with great depth of colour, tone & texture. This is achieved by carefully layering the pastels and essentially building the painting up.
My main influences have been from my family, primarily my mother, Reenie Williams, a talented and popular artist and teacher. My family include many capable artists, most notably my uncle, Bernard Hesling, a popular and highly regarded painter, author, television and radio personality from years past.
I have won numerous art awards and offer my works for sale at various art shows and on-line.
