The Beauty of Tasmania

I always think of Tasmania as cold and bleak. It is however full of beautiful light and colour. I wanted to capture the intense beauty of the colours in the fields through my minds eye.

I have had an interesting journey with my art. I left my fine Arts diploma at East Sydney in 1994 to add to my family. I went on to study animal science and worked in veterinary and biomedical research. I still yearned for the country and art so now my children have grown up l have thrown myself into my art. I am seriously inspired by the Impressionist painters and their ability to transport us directly to a moment in time. l love to paint quickly and freely to bring to life how l see things. I have suffered multiple tragedies in my life and I try very hard to keep light and colour in my world, I feel my paintings reflect my love of nature and my understanding of its energy.
