Artwork Description

The beautiful and imposing Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. This was once the home of a young Dalai Lama and apparently it was not his favourite place. It is 13 stories high and has over 1000 rooms. It is a dark maze of shrines and statues with the ever present scent of yak butter candles. Tibet was one of the most mentally and physically challenging journeys I have taken, but I would do it all again just to see another glimpse of this fascinating country.
