Artwork Description

“… to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.”

Marriage…. is when two became one… is two souls intertwined.. You give me your heart as I do mine… is new love starting to grow through time…

To have and to hold… to sometimes hate and to others roar… to be a friend and sometimes an enemy… to see me break and then bring me whole…

from this day on is when I became we….when compassion, strength, hate, loneliness and togetherness change their meanings… when my dreams and my deepest secrets, my fantasies, desires, my ambition became ours… when I became better for having you or worse for letting ME go…

Marriage…. is our most intimate and private celebration of love…. yet everyone sees through the glass… through the bars hiding your love…. we the perception of an imperfect 2 halves, broken and whole… perfect and not…

To have and to hold… intertwined or not, we love and we roar… we are better or worse, we are broken and we are whole… privately, secretly… from that day on…. behind the glass or the bars….in front of the whole world.

Artist Bio

I can find beauty in the most imperfect things, I can see beauty in the ugliness of life, I can draw beauty from the dark, I can bring beauty to light with my paint, I can paint the beauty and the ugly that touches in a spiritual way, that inspires creativity, passion and change."- Kelly Morley
Hi, my name is Kelly and I have been drawing since I as four years old. I started drawing detailed horse portraits at a very early age. I was trying to understand the shades and forms, the lines and shadows that represent this beautiful animal. I became obsessed with drawing them, painting them, observing them and dreamt so deeply of one day owning my own. That dream became my passion and grew my hunger to learn more about art and different mediums.
I grew up in a small country town in our beautiful snowy mountains. I attended a local school and my curiosity of art drove me to start my own journey. I enrolled at TAFE to help my formation and understanding of this passion. I am a mum of two beautiful souls and found my soul mate many years ago. He is my rock, my strength and the beautiful father of my children. He supports and inspires me everyday. I am a very community driven person and contribute to my local community through my work everyday. I am a nurse and try to make a difference in those people who need us most, I have seen how vulnerable the strongest man can be when faced with death. I am confronted with the cliché of life on a daily basis, being so close to life and death helped me understand that the smallest act of kindness will never go unappreciated, or at least unnoticed.
I have an ability to inspire others with my art, I endeavour to paint from the heart and the gift of empower change with a single stroke of paint drives me and inspires me everyday. I see beauty and inspiration in everyday life from the beauty of a single sunset to the magnificence or ugliness of nature and life. I wear my heart on my sleeve and would love for you to see beauty in those emotions through my art.
I was honoured with the first price on the 50th Anniversary of the Raglan Gallery and further blessed with the opportunity to have Imants Tillers as a mentor. I hope you enjoy my art and are inspire by it.
