Cool Change

As the evening comes in quicker and night settles in earlier the cool change that comes along with sunset is a welcome relief from the hot days of Central Victoria.
This painting depicts that moment - when the clouds are turning pink and the sky purpling. The cool changes rises off the water and the grass. I open up all my windows to let in the air and feel content in my little house, trying to rest gently on country as we get ready for sleep.

Kelsey is a young, autistic artist who is currently studying a Masters in Visual Art. They are interested in the different ways people can see the world, and in capturing their own unique experience arising from the combination of their autism and periods of psychosis. Kelsey has been subject to a variety of diagnoses including schizotypal, schizophrenia, and schizo-affective as a teenager and young adult. The current consensus is that Kelsey has a particularly 'vivid inner landscape'. They have run with this semi tongue-in-cheek assessment and their art is now often maps of this inner landscape as well as the experience and understanding of particular places in time and space.
