Ridgeline (60 x 60 cm, acrylic on stretched canvas) is inspired by the rugged beauty and raw textures of the Australian outback. I have always been fascinated by the way rock formations carry both history and character, their surfaces weathered yet striking. In this work, I sought to capture that layered, untamed quality of the landscape.
To bring depth and texture, I incorporated torn paper collage beneath the paint, allowing the surface to echo the ridges and fissures of the land itself. The interplay of bold colours and tactile textures creates a sense of energy and rhythm, evoking both the harshness and beauty of the outback.
This piece brings a dynamic presence to a space, offering warmth, vibrancy, and a connection to the natural world. It is both a celebration of the landscape’s resilience and an invitation to feel grounded in its strength.
