A practising professional artist since the mid 1980โs and originally from Adelaide, Kent has exhibited in many selected group shows and enjoyed successful one man shows in Adelaide and Sydney. Kent attended the National Art School, Darlinghurst Sydney in combination with selected tutorials at various art institutions and this in combination with his thirst for knowledge in the area of art history has stood him in good stead especially when it comes to working with his students in Painting Workshops over the years.
When asked what he is hoping to achieve with his art, Kent McCormack's response is "to create excellent work that transports the viewer to a state of deep thought." Working in oils, Kent mostly focuses on figurative, landscape and abstraction preferring to follow and idea through from inception to completion.
Kent's creative process is embedded in systematic construction of composition and his inspiration comes from the determination to work an idea through in its entirety. His ambition is to continue this search for excellence while elaborating on existing techniques.
Kentโs work is represented in corporate and private collections throughout Australia.
