I am an emerging artist having taken up painting after retirement. My work is abstract. I paint intuitively. It begins with a desire to explore a certain colour combination or textural mark. From there I’m challenged to find complimentary colours, marks or lines that will expand the work to encompass or embrace what I feel. I put multiple layers on the canvas, often creating interesting, slightly hidden snippets of joy, and always arriving at a finished piece that reflects where I am in that moment.
