• Born in Swan Hill Victoria, Kerrie now lives and works in Albury NSW.• Her chosen mediums are oil and acrylic paints• Kerrie is intrigued by line and pattern, texture and colour, she may start a piece with a realist intention and it quickly develops into having a life of its own, an exploration of the often-unintentional interplay of colour, texture and perspective. This means she has a challenging time explaining and naming her work. It is the journey of creative development that excites and fulfils her. • As Kerrie has mainly painted as inspiration for her interior design work, commissions for clients and enjoyment, she has rarely formally “shown” her work. She has paintings in homes in Australia, New Zealand and in Europe. • Kerrie’s creative education is strongly design based. She has worked for many years in Interior decoration and design and as a design educator and creative Industries department team leader in the Tafe system. She loves teaching colour, design theory, architectural history and has studied painting and drawing and taught drawing. • Kerrie’s other passion is travel. She has travelled extensively from an early age throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Australia. As a dual Australian / French national she travels annually to Europe and the Middle East. Her first stop is always the galleries and museums. • Kerrie’s artistic tastes are varied. Modigliani, Klimt, Matisse, Picasso, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, John Olson, Fred Williams, John Blackman, Kathleen Petyarre are just some of the artist whose work informs her practice.• Kerrie is currently working on paintings inspired by the Victorian alpine areas of Bright and Falls Creek
