A Glimpse explores a quiet, symbolic form suspended between presence and absence. The central shape suggests something organic and luminous, held within a darker field, inviting the viewer to interpret it as both object and threshold.

The painting is built through layered oil glazes, creating depth and subtle tonal shifts that change with light. The surface has a soft, tactile quality, enhanced by a buffed satin wax finish.

The cradled pine panel has been intentionally distressed, with worn edges that give the piece a sense of age and history, contrasting with the vivid internal glow of the image.

Working primarily in oils and mixed media, Kerry builds layered surfaces to create depth, ambiguity, and a sense of quiet intensity. Her paintings invite viewers into a space of contemplation, where familiar forms begin to shift and open into something less certain.

Kerry has exhibited in group exhibitions across Naarm, including Brunswick Street Gallery and Darebin Art Salon. She has also completed the Expanded Practice Program at The Art Room, a mentored professional development program focused on refining artistic direction and building a sustainable practice.
