Artwork Description

This painting is part of a small series exploring shifting emotional landscapes, where movement and stillness exist side by side.

Organic, flowing forms gather and open around a central space, suggesting both containment and release. The composition moves between tension and calm, with areas of light emerging through deeper tones.

Painted in oils on timber panel, the surface is built through layered glazes, creating depth and subtle tonal variation. A gentle, tactile texture becomes visible as the light changes across the surface.

The work is presented in a floating stained timber frame, giving it a clean, defined edge while maintaining a sense of material presence.

This piece can be displayed individually or alongside others from the series.

Artist Bio

Her work explores symbolic inner landscapes, drawing on elements of mythology, storytelling, and the unknown. Through painting, she creates atmospheric scenes that sit between the real and the surreal, where light, form, and colour suggest moments of transformation and reflection.

Working primarily in oils and mixed media, Kerry builds layered surfaces to create depth, ambiguity, and a sense of quiet intensity. Her paintings invite viewers into a space of contemplation, where familiar forms begin to shift and open into something less certain.

Kerry has exhibited in group exhibitions across Naarm, including Brunswick Street Gallery and Darebin Art Salon. She has also completed the Expanded Practice Program at The Art Room, a mentored professional development program focused on refining artistic direction and building a sustainable practice.
