Artwork Description

This is a quite a black painting. Not meant to be sad, It was a serene crisp morning, the turning leaves on the old pear trees was brilliant.
You can glimpse Bruny Island and the D'entracasteaux Channel between the trees.

Artist Bio

Kerry Russell's decades long practice explores the subjective experience of landscape. Observations of natural light and colour are a constant in her paintings. 'I feel more alive when I am immersed in the process of painting the natural light. A feed back loop begins, like a conversation between myself and my part of the world.'

Medium used is most often oil on canvas, paper and on board.

A recent move to the village of Woodbridge Tasmania has provided Kerry with fresh inspiration from landscape, still life subjects, seasonal effects upon garden, landscape, and the beautiful D'Entrecasteaux Channel.
