Artwork Description

'Where Eagles Have Been'

Embark on a journey into Buddha's serene world, where meditation and hibernation blend for inner peace.
This contemplative piece invites you on a visual pilgrimage, guiding you to a harmonious meditative state. Meditation is a sacred journey, delving into your being, while hibernation is a metaphorical retreat, shedding distractions for true self-discovery—a sanctuary for rejuvenation.

Inspired by the song of the same name by Wolfmother, 'Where Eagles Have Been,' this artwork is a canvas for soul exploration. It signifies the convergence of ancient wisdom and nature's embrace, with foliage enveloping the Buddha statue—a metaphor for life's cyclical rhythms. Buddha's teachings and the song's echoes encourage you to break free from the mundane, finding solace in serene enlightenment and the beauty of the natural world.

The painting is inspired by a tranquil retreat in Malaysia that I visited. As did the retreat, this painting brings with it peace, tranquillity and serenity to calm our minds from the days busy stresses.

This work is painted on a gallery wrapped canvas and has been sealed with varnish, comes ready to hang and with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Bio

Kerry Sandhu Art: Inspired Art from the Heart

I'm Kerry Sandhu, a self-taught acrylic and mixed-media artist with a passion for bringing vibrant, heartfelt art to life. Born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, I made a big move to Darwin in January 2020—a change that opened my world to new colours, stories, and inspiration.

My creativity is fuelled by the world around me: nature, spirit, life, music, and lyrics all weave their way into my artistic process. Much like my eclectic taste in music, my style is ever-evolving—bold, expressive, and deeply intuitive.

I create ‘inspired art from the heart,’ spanning a wide range of themes. Each piece captures a moment of emotion, a spark of spirit, or a story waiting to be told. My work celebrates vibrant colour, texture, and the beauty found in life’s smallest details, with each brushstroke reflecting my inner world.

Painting is not just what I do—it’s who I am. Through my art, I aim to touch hearts, inspire minds, ignite passions, and evoke deep emotion.

Every ANZAC Day (since 2016), I paint an original artwork to honour the fallen service men, women and animals, acknowledging their courage, sacrifice, and the ultimate price paid for our freedom.
LEST WE FORGET.

My mantra is simple and true:
“Art is like people, no two are the same.
Each person has their own destiny, and art will always find its destiny too.”
