Artwork Description

Nature's Still Life - a photo I took while walking the Caminito del Rey in Spain three years ago. El Caminito del Rey (The King's Little Path) is a walkway, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Ardales in the province of Málaga, Spain. A small part of the walkways goes through the bottom of the Gorge, and this is where I found this perfect composition.

Artist Bio

Nature has always fascinated me, and I have felt a deep connection to it for as long as I can remember. I am particularly inspired by the way light transforms landscapes and seascapes - turning familiar scenes into something fleeting, luminous and almost magical. These ever-changing moments captivate me, and through my work I hope to share that sense of wonder with the viewer.

I am a part-time artist based in the Adelaide Hills, painting from my home studio whenever time allows. My art reflects the profound happiness I feel in the act of creation. Working primarily in oils, I strive to capture nature’s harmony and beauty in realistic scenes that still reveal the artist’s hand - brushstrokes, layered textures, and subtle marks that invite closer inspection.
I am drawn to the richness and versatility of oil paint, often using both brushes and palette knives to build depth and character. While grounded in traditional techniques, I remain curious and open to experimentation, continually exploring new approaches, mediums, and inspirations.

Above all, I hope my paintings offer more than a visual experience — I hope they invite the viewer into a moment of stillness, connection, and joy.
