Artwork Description

This oil painting captures a quiet moment in the studio, where a collection of well-loved ceramic vessels sits alongside a paint brush. I enjoy the way everyday objects in the studio become part of the creative process, carrying traces of paint, use and time.

The rich blues and greens of the vessels stand out against the warm, earthy background, while the reflections on the glossy surfaces bring light and movement to the composition. The brush adds another layer with its reflection, connecting the still life directly to the act of painting and the creative space in which it was made.

Artist Bio

Nature has always fascinated me, and I have felt a deep connection to it for as long as I can remember. I am particularly inspired by the way light transforms landscapes and seascapes - turning familiar scenes into something fleeting, luminous and almost magical. These ever-changing moments captivate me, and through my work I hope to share that sense of wonder with the viewer.

I am a part-time artist based in the Adelaide Hills, painting from my home studio whenever time allows. My art reflects the profound happiness I feel in the act of creation. Working primarily in oils, I strive to capture nature’s harmony and beauty in realistic scenes that still reveal the artist’s hand - brushstrokes, layered textures, and subtle marks that invite closer inspection.
I am drawn to the richness and versatility of oil paint, often using both brushes and palette knives to build depth and character. While grounded in traditional techniques, I remain curious and open to experimentation, continually exploring new approaches, mediums, and inspirations.

Above all, I hope my paintings offer more than a visual experience — I hope they invite the viewer into a moment of stillness, connection, and joy.
